The vision we have of ourselves has been influenced by everything we have experienced even from the mother’s cloister. We are influenced by our immediate family, by our teachers, by society, by the church, even by strangers with whom we casually share. And the most that exists of each person around us are opinions.
One of the things our actions are most influenced by is “what will people say”. We are concerned with what others say so much that we even forget the most important thing really: What does God say about me? What does God expect of me?
What God says about me is the truth, the rest are just opinions. So: how long do we depend on opinions to base our lives? How much more valuable is what I have learned and received from this banal world than what God wants to bring to my life? The word of God is full of what we really mean to God, of what God sees when he looks at us. God created us to the glory of his praise and to have a fatherly relationship with us. If you are a father, think about how you see your children. How much do you love them? How many things are you able to forgive them? How much do you long for their well-being? What sacrifices and efforts have you been able to make for them? After answering these questions honestly, do you think that what God has for us as children is less than what you and I are capable of giving in our humanity? God sent his own son to complete the work that would perfect our lives, so he can look at us through his son and see perfection in us. If it were not so, God himself would be belittling the work of his own son.
Let us begin to understand how God sees us and how much He loves us. How he longs for us to draw near to Him in his fatherly heart. If we change perspective, and put ourselves in the position of the father, we will be able to understand many things about his love, although even so we would fall short understanding his love.
Let’s forget the voices of opinions of the world, and know the truth of God. Understanding his love will change many things in your life, including the way you look. Come and meet him. Blessings
