They are not just emotions

May my mouth be filled with your praise, with your glory all day long.

Psalm 71: 8

Within the package with which we were designed, God included emotions. Emotions are the stimulated feeling within us, which is linked to an event, whatever it is in our lives, and carries it (unites it) to our brain to be remembered. That is why, every time we remember an event from the past, we can experience the same emotions as if we were living it at that very moment. In fact, our brain does not know whether the event is happening at that time or not, it is only responsible for secreting the chemistry that produces the emotions of that specific moment.

Although we can have all kinds of emotions, the longing of God’s heart when He gave them to us was that we use them to live by remembering and celebrating our experiences in Him. But we keep the habit of living by remembering the negative things that happen to us. We remember them, we cling to them, we talk about them and we share them with others continuously. We do not realize the atmosphere we live creating, filling it with experiences that have harmed and hurt us.

But: How much do you use your emotions to continually remember and relive God’s goodness for you? How much do you celebrate the blessings you have received from God every day? How happy are you that He is your God? How much do you celebrate his love for you? How much do you enjoy your company each day? Do you celebrate and remember their benefits and favors for you? How much do you remember and celebrate the words he has given you, knowing that they are real and fulfilled? Activate your faith, come on.

Stop saving and “celebrating” the things that have hurt your life. His word says to you: 18 Remember ye, not the former things, neither consider the things of old.19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? Again, I will make my way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43. Stop tying your emotions to the events of sorrow and pain. Start giving it the right use. They were designed to bless your life, not to harm it by drowning in pain and sorrow.

If you are going to use your emotions in something, use them to celebrate the greatness of your God, to exalt His name, to make noise before the world, and to praise a God who has never left you, has never abandoned you. He who fills you with favors and mercies, remember Him.

May my mouth be filled with your praise, with your glory all day long. Psalm 71: 8
