Where to?

1

In my university years (I studied at the UPR, Rio Piedras), I had a teacher who used the expression a lot: “wake up Puerto Rican, defend what is yours”. Of course, it was an expression that motivated and pushed his students to fight for their rights, not to stop in the face of injustice, to raise their voices to be heard over the oppression we had to face many times. Definitely, there was always an answer, who has not heard about any strike in the UPR? I witnessed some in my personal character. A crowd was moving that understood that it deserved to be heard, a crowd that had a truth and was going to take it to where it was necessary to achieve the change or demand they were presenting. They did it with posters, with shouts, with music, with art, among some other expressions that I don’t need to clarify here and now. Because when people know that they have a truth, they become it, appropriate it and take it as far as it has to go.

That is why it shouts within me the question: Do you know any truth? What is your truth? Isn’t Christ your truth? If your truth is Christ, why don’t we hear your voice proclaiming it?

There is something that I am convinced in my spirit, and that is, this is the time of the children, it is the time of the church. God has been speaking to us, but we have been putting our focus on the circumstances around us. We have been full of fear, of doubts, we have preached a Christ that his only work was to die on the cross to save us, but he has nothing else for us today. Do we grant the scope of his work? Where is the church of Acts, which showed the power and the signs that follow those who believe? Where are we looking at? To the circumstances that surround us and that seem so great and terrible that they overshadow the power of God, or to the one who became incarnate in our lives and told us that things greater than what He did, would we do?

I have to keep saying it: 18 in fact, I believe that nothing compares the current sufferings with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 Creation anxiously awaits the revelation of God’s children … Romans 8: 18-19

I do not know a truth greater than Christ, if He is your truth, proclaim it, and let no one shut you. This is the time to make his love and grace known. If there must be a place to run in times like those we are living, it is to Him, there is no other way. Blessings.
