You don’t have to count to ten

As a child I never liked playing the game of hide and seek. The idea was to leave someone slowly counting to ten, on back position, while the rest of the group looked for a place to hide. And when he finished counting, he had to go out and look where the others had hidden. The first to be found was the next to count to ten and continue the game. That feeling of being found was frustrating, because you did not want to be the next to count to find others.

Many times we feel that Jesus is in the middle of that game with us, but I want to tell you that He likes to be found. The word says in Proverbs 8:17: To those who love me I reciprocate; TO THOSE WHO SEEK ME, I GIVE ME TO KNOW (NIV). Can you recognize the method he uses to make himself known to you?

It is possible that in moments of our life we have felt that Jesus is hidden, we seem not to see him anywhere, there do not seem to be answers in our circumstances. Today you must know and be clear that, no matter if you can see him act or not, feel him or not, listen to him or not, He is there. He promised to be every day until the end and in the midst of EVERYTHING, He is working.

There will be moments where you will see him easily, there will be moments where stillness and silence will be the answer you will have. Zephaniah 3:17 says that He “will be silent with love.” Even if you don’t understand that kind of love, you should trust. Don’t let the feeling of loneliness or abandonment invade you. The worst thoughts come to our mind when we want to see God work the way we expect and when we want him to do it our way. Do not forget that his justice is not our justice, his thoughts are not our thoughts, and his ways are not our ways. But that does not make him absent, it makes him SOVEREIGN.

You don’t have to see him, you don’t have to feel him, you don’t have to listen to him, you just have to believe him. Just believing will change the whole picture. You don’t have to count to 10 to find him, just believe that He is and move in the confidence that if you give him control, He has it. Rest on that word and enjoy his permanent company. Blessings.
