These days I shared with a person that was going through a moment of sadness and I saw how he plunged into a depression despite the support and word of encouragement he had been receiving. This person does not know Christ and in a way, I can understand how difficult it is for him who does not have Christ, to overcome a hard moment. But, I find it difficult to understand how he who has Christ, likewise, sinks into a deep sadness or even a depression from which he finds it so difficult to rise. I don’t want to be misunderstood, we can all have moments of pain due to different circumstances, and we live human situations every day. But there is a verse where Jesus tells us that, although in the world we would have affliction, we would trust because He has defeated the world. That verb, which is Jesus, who incarnated in you and me, is enough to get us out of every situation as painful and difficult as it may be.
Jesus’ words are spirit and are life. The whole bible is full of a word of power and authority that, if you appropriate it and empower yourself, you will see how there is no situation that can bring you down. When you think and manage to see that in Him you are complete and you have everything, you feel like the power that raised Christ from the dead, takes strength within you and you get up and learn to reign over all circumstances.
Enough of being such a starry beings, letting us overcome and oppress for any circumstance and not giving value to the complete work that Jesus did for us on the cross. His work was not in vain, every word he taught is real and has power. You are more than a conqueror, take authority and take ownership of the word that makes you free, healthy, and victorious. Say the word and let it do its function through faith that connects you with the finished and perfect work of Christ. Let his words be your truth, no matter what your circumstances try to tell you. If you manage to see yourself over the circumstances overcoming, you took the work of Christ and gave it the right value in your life. Blessings.
