It is amazing to see how easily people move from one church to another. We are looking for a church like someone looking for clothes to buy, it has to accommodate to what each individual understands correctly on its personal search. It has to stay close to me, it must have a certain number of members, it must be of this or that denomination, the adoration must be in one or another way, and finally, we begin to add to the list a series of characteristics that must fill my expectation and make me feel pleased.  It’s all about how I evaluate and catalog it.

But have you ever asked God for direction so that it is He who directs you to the right church for you? And notice that I used the word “right” and not perfect, because the church of Christ is perfect, may you believe it or not. Ephesians 5:25-27 says: …just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify the church, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word [of God], 27 so that [in turn] He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy [set apart for God] and blameless.

This is how Christ sees his church. It is perfect through his complete work that was perfect, because it is not about our work, but that of Christ. It is not that He is going to have a clean and spotless church in the future, it is that he already has it and presented it to himself. Under what criteria do you dare to judge and say the opposite? Why is it easier to focus on the weaknesses of a leader or a brother to run out of a church, than to focus on the perfect work that Jesus has already done?

Stop looking for a church that meets your criteria and seeks to mold your life to the word of God. When you focus on Christ and the work he wants to do throughout your life, you have no time to look at the mistakes or situations of others. We all need the grace and love of God, it is only through Him that we are perfect. Then, learn to look at your neighbor through the eyes of Christ, Christ is grace.

Stop running from church to church. God wants to affirm and establish you. You know in your heart which place you should be, but pride does not allow you to act correctly. How can God work with your life, trust you with a ministry, and use you to minister to others, when you are looking at human errors instead of looking at Him. So the reason why you are leaving a church today, tomorrow will persecute you in another place and at some point you will have to face it if you want to grow.

Today Jesus invites you to focus only on Him, the rest will not bring change or transformation to your life, and it will only bring pain and confusion. Above all, focus on Him. Blessings.
