Grace and me

Over the years we have learned to deserve all things. Our parents, teachers or people of authority in our life, taught us the method of gratification through effort. According to how you behave or the effort you make, you get the reward. That is why it has been so difficult for us to understand and accept grace. We wanted to adapt our own vision to grace. So, inevitably, we put a little effort into it because human beings always think that it is too good to be true.

The work of Jesus on the cross was complete. No need to add anything to it. If it required any effort or help from us, it would not be a perfect gift, and everything that God gives is perfect. That is why he gave us his son, because he was perfect.

Stop feeling like you have to do something to achieve and maintain salvation. What Jesus did was “out of the pure affection of his will” – Ephesians 1: 5. Receive his love and grace, without feeling burdens or guilt. God made us imperfect because if we were perfect we wouldn’t need Him. So for all glory to be His, it needs to be displayed through earthen vessels like you and I are.

Nothing is about you or me, in the end everything is about Jesus, because He is grace and perfect love that covers a multitude of sins. And it’s for you, for me, for everyone. God’s grace be with you today.
